Case Study - Back Pain & Aches
Updated: Aug 14, 2018
I just wanted to thank Grace & Lauren, and all the teachers so much for helping me get into hot yoga. All the classes are amazing and there is a real variety of classes. I also love the fact that I don’t feel self conscious or not good enough in the class. There is such a supportive vibe that I have the confidence to try and want to do well.
I have a lot of pain and tension in my upper back and most recently in my lower back from my many years of waitressing carrying big and heavy trays. I also suffer from pain in my right knee from an accident a few years ago. I really wanted to do something, which keeps me fit as well as makes me stronger and helps with my terrible posture and aches and pains!
I know I have not been doing this very long but I do find that the stretch poses like downward dog really help with releasing pressure in my shoulders, arms and legs.
I feel as though yoga really helps me with moving my body joints and this enables me to be more mobile, almost as if I’ve forgotten how to move like that. Performing the balance poses enables me to think about my posture and adjust accordingly I can already see where I have made improvements with these.
The breathing really helps to relieve pressure and tension and I find that being in a hot room enables me to move easier than what I would normally.
I’m really looking forward to seeing how I grow stronger and the improvements my body will continue to make on this journey.
Best wishes, Holly - Grace Lounge Yoga student 2018
